Break Time: Funny Real Estate Content to Brighten Your Day

Sat, Oct 26, 2013

funny real estateI try to make this blog a valuable resource for our customers and other people interested in real estate investing. From general real estate information to more specific advice regarding real estate investing, from the latest news in what's going on with Memphis Invest to up-to-date information about the Memphis area, I want you to walk away feeling more intelligent and/or more informed after every post you read on here.

Okay, almost every post.

Let's face it: Sometimes we just want to be entertained. Heck, forget "want"; sometimes we just need to be entertained. That's why every now and then, I like to post something just for fun. It's easy to get so caught up in our work sometimes that we forget to take a break just to have fun. So in the name of doing just that, let's enjoy some funny real estate content!

1. Video: EZ Landlord Forms

In this video for EZ Landlord Forms, we find out the potential consequences of using a verbal lease.  So not only this video mildly amusing, it also speaks to a real topic for real estate investors.  Not that I am trying to pass this off as a real, substantial and informative article or anything! There are several valuable bits of information that can be taken from this video:

  1. You should always get everything in writing.
  2. You don't have to have a big budget to make a funny video.
  3. Miniature motorcycles look like an awful lot of fun.

2. Blog: Terrible real estate agent photographs

memphis real estate

Good luck tearing yourself away from this site. On this blog, the moderator posts funny, sad, and yes, altogether terrible real estate agent photos. Looking at these cringe-worthy photographs is only half the fun; the other half comes from the captions and commentary from the moderator. I suppose this site could even pull double duty, as it could be considered an educational resource. Trust me, when you view the photographs and the comments, you will know what I mean.  Think of it as a guide to everything not to do when taking photos of real estate.  Wow....

3. Video: Homes for Sale

In this MyRealty.com video, we get to follow a guy who puts the shame into "shameless plug" when it comes to promoting a property he's trying to sell. Who needs a website when you can turn your body hair into a billboard?  We'll just leave it at that...check out the video.

Hopefully, we helped you take a few minutes to run on the lighter side today.  There is plenty of time to be serious and almost an overload of information on real estate.  Today we just wanted to say...enjoy and smile!

Be on the look out this week for Memphis numbers from the third quarter and an update from our Dallas offices!
