As happens so often in business, it is easy for their to be un-intended circumstances that come from even the simplest of actions. Many companies love to tout their long-term business models and forecast on the strength and volume of their business. When it comes to smaller operations (ones like ours) where there are fewer than 50 employees and often times little changes lead to big things, it is very easy to draw a line between actions and results.
Chandler Reports, the local real estate information aggregating company, released their monthly tally last week which included 1st quarter totals for all things related to real estate in Memphis and the surrounding areas. Memphis Invest is interested in many of the numbers including total sales, days on market, average sales price and number of transactions as each of these data points is very important to the over-all health of a market. But we are also extremely interested in the over-all sales numbers for the area and for the 8th quarter in a row, MemphisInvest.com was the leader in local company home sales.

Today, I am going to share a little wisdom I heard from a group of the best real estate investing minds I have ever met. When we met Fortune Builders a couple of years ago, they had already made a name for themselves as a premier property flipping company and had gained national notoriety as one of the hit companies on A&E T.V.'s "Flip This House". We were interested in having them speak to our investors about real estate in general and they were interested in seeing our operation up close. What resulted from that first meeting has been two of the absolute BEST companies in their respective fields teaming up to help investors around the world take advantage of this crazy real estate market.
On Tuesday night, January 4th, Marq Cobb who leads the sales floor at MemphisInvest.com, held a quick 45 minute Webinar recapping three great success stories from investors in 2010. Each defined sccess in their own way and each took advantage of the services provided by our years of experience in the Memphis investment real estate market. The stories shared were simply inspiring!

I talk to real estate investors every single week who are interested in investing in Memphis real estate with MemphisInvest.com for a lot of different reasons. Some of the most interesting investors I talk to though, are those who are highly diversified in other markets. They own stock portfolios or invest in Bonds and Mutual Funds. They have spent years with financial planners preparing for a day that now seems in jeopardy: Retirement! Most of these investors are turning to a tool that their "advisors" failed to teach them about - Self Directed Retirement Accounts. With the right real estate investments at all time values, the focus to investing in real estate with your retirement account could not have come at a better time.
I spent some time in Colorado in the early 2000's and was pretty active in the real estate market at the time. One of the comments that we regularly heard was that "there is no more land being manufactured". Being land locked by the mountains, real estate was at a premium and investing was considered to be a sound long term investment.
Memphis Invest was in Dallas, TX. on November 20th and found a room full of investors ready to take action! I found this great news article at Forbes.com that I thought everyone should read as soon as possible to get an insight into what is continuing to take place in the housing market. There is a sense of relief being perpetrated in the media including right here in Memphis that the worst of the housing crisis is behind us. Let's hope that is true, the worst is over.
